Course Details:
|
Regular refresher training is a legislative requirement for all first aiders to ensure that they keep up to date with developments in First Aid Practice while also refreshing skills that may only be intermittently used. Refresher training is required every 3 years; this course will keep a current First Aid Certificate in-date so that you can continue to practice as an occupational first aider in the work environment.

Objectives:

On completion of this course participants will be able to:
- -
Demonstrate up to date first aid skills
- Comply with statutory guidelines under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and First Aid regulations 1993 and 2007
|

- responsibilities of a first aider
- scene management and assessment
- Shock
- Unconsciousness
- Recovery position
- Recovery position
- Heart attack and angina
- Asphyxia
- Choking
- CPR
- Any updated skills or changes to first aid practice
|

Who Should Attend
|
Anyone qualified occupational first aider whose certificate is in date (less than 3 years old from date of issue)
|

Pre-Course Requirements
|
No pre course requirements but English is the language in which training is delivered and participants must have a good command of the English language. If participants wish to bring an interpreter this can be arranged with prior notice which must be given to Healthforce
|
|
Assessment / Certification
|
Participants will receive a certificate that will validate them as an Occupational First Aider for a further 3 years from date of course.
