This course is designed to train participants to deal with fire on an emergency basis and manage an evacuation safely. It emphasises the dangers of fire, the importance of prevention and the necessity of urgent action when fire breaks out.

Objectives:

On completion of this course participants will be able to:
- List the role and responsibility of fire wardens
- Describe the chemistry of fire
- Identify fire hazards in the workplace
- Assist in the management of evacuation procedures and drills
- Practical use of fire fighting equipment
|

Programme:

- Legislation regarding fire and fire safety with reference to the workplace
- Theory of fire and fire extinction
- Chemistry of fire and Classification of fires
- Spread of fire
- Basic fire prevention procedures
- Emergency evacuation
- How to make evacuation realistic
- Practical demonstrations of fire hazards and use of fire fighting equipment

Who Should Attend
|
Anyone who is engaged in the duties of a fire warden in the workplace
|

Pre-Course Requirements
|
No pre course requirements but English is the language in which training is delivered and participants must have a good command of the English language. If participants wish to bring an interpreter this can be arranged with prior notice which must be given to Healthforce
|

Assessment / Certification
|
Participants will receive a certificate of attendance and participation in a Fire Warden training Course
|
