 Defibrillator (AED) Course 

 
Course Details:

This comprehensive Heartsaver AED Course is designed to teach Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) & Automated External Defibrillator (AED) skills for the lay rescuer and first responder.
The course is multimedia based with practical instruction from qualified Irish Heart Foundation Instructors.

 
Objectives:

On completion of this course participants will be able to:

- Provide AED in emergency situations in both an occupational and public setting

  • - Introduction to AED
  • - Incident management
  • - Familiarisation and AED protocol
  • - Cardiac Arrest CPR
  • - AED Skills
  • - Shockable and Non Shockable rhythms
  • - Assessing CPR and AED skills

 Who Should  Attend

Anyone who wants to qualify to use a defibrillator

Pre-Course Requirements
 

 No pre course requirements but English is the language in which training is delivered and participants must have a good command of the English language. If participants wish to bring an interpreter this can be arranged with prior notice which must be given to Healthforce

 

 Assessment / Certification

Participants complete a practical exam. On completion of the course participants will receive a certificate of attendance accredited by Healthforce. Participants will also be registered with and certified by the Irish Heart Foundation.
